Key info for Riccarton Residents

If you are having serious disturbance from neighbouring residents (including vandalism, verbal abuse and the smashing of bottles), ring the police on 363 7400 and insist on being given a job reference number. Make sure you keep a record of that reference number. If the disturbance is so serious that you fear for your safety then ring 111 (and get an incident number).

 If you want to call the City Council offices to report something that needs to be repaired or cleaned up then ring 941 8999 (24 hours) and make sure you are given a request for service number. Keep the number handy so you can quote it when you ring again if the job is not done within a reasonable number of days.

 If you are having noise control issues, ring noise control on 941 8999. Be aware that you may be talking to someone in Auckland so make it very clear which address (give the letter box number) the noise is coming from and what part of the property it is coming from – for example, from the front lawn or from the back fence – if you can. The Christchurch City Council officer in charge of noise control is Graeme Pulley – he can be contacted by ringing 941 6403 (office hours).
